About Us
A
Little Bit of History:
Beaver Cross Camp has been a ministry of the Episcopal Dioceseof Albany for over
50 years. We started out holding camp sessions at Silver Lake Camp back in the
1950's before we moved to our Cooperstown location. For over 40 years the Cooperstown
location served us well and was considered the summer home for three generations
of campers. As our programs grew we found that we needed to expand and unfortunately
it was not feasible to add significantly to the Cooperstown facility, so in 2000
the diocese began to search for a piece of property that would allow us to grow
and enhance the Beaver Cross program as well as develop an adult conference center
which could accommodate our growing diocese. After a search of hundreds of sites
the search committee found the Greenwich location and the rest will soon be history.
The facility is now known as Christ the King
Center and with 612 acres of gorgeous Adirondack
property we have the perfect backdrop for creating an exciting and unique camp
experience. We have miles of hiking trails, a private lake for boating and fishing,
acres of activity fields, woods for exploring, and so much more. Our new cabins
and housing area have been designed to foster community and safety, and our dining
will be second to none. We hope you will join us this summer and experience first
hand why three generations of campers have called Beaver Cross their summer home.

What We Do:
While the facilities are new, many of our honored traditions
will remain. As always, our goal each year is Building
Christian Community. We strive to model the teachings of
Christ while fostering community among our campers in all that
we do. We fully believe that relationships built within this environment
can be the basis of life-long support and growth. A major part
of creating this atmosphere is our camp staff. We take great pride
in seeking out and hiring the best team possible to work with your
children. We train them to be super star staff and give them the
tools needed to provide a safe and fun experience for each and
every camper.

Our program during the summer includes a
wide range of activities that we develop to ensure that each camper has
special activities that appeal to them. These activities include: arts
and crafts, nature exploring, sporting, drama and music, swimming, boating
and more. A central part of summer program is the Ropes Course. The low
elements of the course are key to building a trusting community between
the campers, while the high course is a great way to build confidence and
challenge the campers to try new experiences. Our new Ropes Course is sure
to be sure one of the most talked about courses in the Northeast. It has
to be experienced to believe it.

What
We Teach:
A core part of each session is our evening program. We strive
to develop engaging and relevant ways to present the Good News of Christ
at an age appropriate level for each session. We believe the Bible offers
an amazing message of hope and grace through building a personal relationship
with Christ and we want the campers to experience that in a safe and supportive
environment.
